As you drive around town, you'll see a number of objects on the streets. These can be powerups ammo, armor, repairs, packages which can be delivered to earn money, and targets cows, mailboxes, signs. You'll see pedestrians, too, but they are immune to your attacks and your driving this isn't Carmageddon, after all. As you pick up certain items, you'll get status messages and clues regarding a scenario's objectives. These flash quickly into the top corner of the screen and can be easy to miss. Occasionally, your character will say something of importance to the mission at hand, but again, these utterances are easily missed.

The graphics in this game are decent but are not spectacular by any stretch. Even with 3Dfx acceleration, Streets of SimCity doesn't look quite as good as I76 without it. Also, the game runs sluggishly, even with the acceleration. Since the cities are SimCity 2000 maps, the streets are angular and turns are sometimes difficult to handle. On top of that, the game controls make it all too easy to oversteer, which often leads to overcorrection and the inevitable crash. Also, the steep ramps leading to bridges in this game almost always cause your car to catch air even when you're just coasting.

Snooker Rules

Snooker is played with 15 red balls 10 reds for Short Snooker rule and 6 'colors' and a 'white' cueball. Each red is worth 1 point, yellow 2 points, green3, brown4, blue5, pink6 and black7.

While there are reds on the table, the ball you have to shoot at alternates between reds and colors, until there are no reds on the table. Creating a Profile

If it's your first time playing, you'll be asked to create a profile with your name. This is used to identify you in case there are multiple people playing on the same machine each can have separate saved games and statistics. If you need to create a new profile later, just click on the link that says, Click here if this is not you. This will let you pick a different profile or create a new one.

Game Selection

Once the game has finished loading, you will find yourself on the Game Selector screen. If it is the first time you've launched Typer Shark, you'll be prompted to take a typing test to determine your current typing speed. This will let the program recommend an appropriate skill level for you to play at.

From this screen, you can select one of the three game modes Adventure, Abyss, and Tutorial, or access your Statistics. You can also change Game Options or Quit back to Windows.

Game Modes

If you select Adventure mode, your recommended difficulty level will be highlighted if you've taken the typing test. This is the level you should probably start at to get a solid challenge.

If you pick Abyss mode, you will start either at the surface, or at any of the 400foot markers you placed while previously playing Abyss. This allows you to start at a deeper depth once you've proven your skills.

If you pick the Typing Tutor, you will go to the Tutorial screen, where you can improve your skills with one of 18 typing lessons. You can also retake the typing test at any time to see your current words per minute.

Options

The Options are accessible by clicking the Options button while playing the game. They include

Music Volume and Sound Effects you can adjust these volume sliders separately to fit your preferences.
Fullscreen If this is checked, Typer Shark Deluxe will use your entire computer screen. If it is not checked, Typer Shark Deluxe will be played in a window. Its up to you to decide which you prefer.
Enable Fx If this is checked, Typer Shark Deluxe will show additional graphical effects. This may slow down the game on some computers.
Custom Cursors If this box is checked, you will see special custom Typer Shark Deluxe cursors in the game rather than Windows standard cursors. If you have a special theme installed that changes your Windows cursors, you may need to activate this option to see the cursor properly in the game.
Space Bar Pauses Game If you enable this option, pressing the Space Bar will pause any game. This is off by default.

Game modes

    Adventure The objective of the game is to complete 55 stages by removing all orange pegs on each stage.
    Quick Play Players can free select any of the 55 stages that they have completed in Adventure.
    Duel Players compete head to head against a computer or human opponent.
    Challenge There are 75 challenges with a variety of difficulty levels. These challenges range from very easy to very difficult.

In addition, there are three ranks to achieve, each accompanied by a trophy

    Peggle Master After completing Adventure Mode the player is declared a Peggle Master.
    Peggle Grandmaster On completion of all 75 challenges the player receives the rank of Peggle Grandmaster.
    Extreme Grandmaster This rank is received when the player manages to clear all the pegs not just the orange ones in all of the levels which can be done through the Quick Play mode.

Game characters

Peggle offers 1011 different playable characters each with their own special powerup that one can use by hitting greencolored pegs.

    Bjorn Powerup Superguide Creates a guide showing part of the shot's trajectory.
    Jimmy Lightning Powerup Multiball Spawns another ball when activated.
    Kat Tut Powerup Pyramid Widens the free ball bucket by attaching a primitive pyramid around it.
    Splork Powerup Space Blast Lights up all pegs in a certain radius.
    Claude Powerup Flippers Causes lobster claw shaped pinball flipper to appear on either side of the screenthe player can click to remit the ball away from the bottom of the screen.
    Renfield Powerup Spooky Ball When activated, the ball appears again at the top of the screen after falling through the bottom.
    Tula Powerup Flower Power Lights up 1/5 of the orange pegs remaining in the stage.
    Warren Powerup Lucky Spin Randomly activates either Triple Score, Magic Hat attaches a hat to the top of the ball, which can also light up pegs, Extra Ball or a random powerup from the other characters.
    Lord Cinderbottom Powerup Fireball Replaces the ball with a fireball that can go through and eliminate all pegs in its path.
    Master Hu Powerup Zen Ball Tweaks one shot up to 500 to optimize scoring.
    Marina Powerup Electrobolt Eliminates all pegs between the firsthit peg and the bucket. Marina is not featured in the original Peggle; rather, she is introduced in the sequel, Peggle Nights.

Gameplay

Scoring
coring points in Peggle is done in three ways firstly by simply hitting the pegs, secondly through bonuses referred to as Style Points which are awarded in addition to the points accumulated for hitting pegs, and thirdly in the form of completion bonuses once a level or challenge is completed.

Peg Scoring

Points are awarded for each peg that is hit during a single ball shot, starting at 10pts for a blue peg and 100pts for an orange peg. The point total awarded for each ball is calculated by multiplying the quantity of pegs hit by the tally of points for each peg hit. Cumulative progress during a single shot is indicated using the Ballometer on the left hand side of the screen which lights up in blue/green, purple and yellow as the points total rises beyond 25,000, 75,000 and 125,000 points respectively. A free ball is awarded as each milestone is passed. As the level progresses, the fevermeter on the right hand side of the screen gradually fills up and this increases the points value of each peg by a factor of 2, 3, 5 or 10. The purple peg usually provides a point bonus equivalent to 5 times the value of an orange peg, although this can increase in some circumstances.

Green pegs can affect the peg scoring process when the characterbased powerup results in the ability to hit additional pegs, such as Renfield when the cumulative total remains as the ball drops down the screen for the second or possibly third time.

Style points are earned for specific acts during a ball shot and these are added to the peg score after each ball shot is completed. There are many different style points opportunities, some common to all characters and some character specific.

Completion bonus

When the player completes a level, the ball falls into one of five bonus slots at the bottom of the screen. These slots normally offer 10,000, 50,000 and 100,000 points. Clearing all of the pegs in a level causes all of the slots to offer 100,000 points. Additional bonuses are tallied as well, such as the Cool Clear bonus and 10,000 points for each unused ball. These bonuses are summed together in a Fever Bonus, which is then added to the player's total score for the level.

Saving a green peg for the last shot that clears the board significantly increases the player's Fever Bonus.

The game requires strategy to bounce the ball off pegs and other obstacles to clear as much of the orange pegs in the level as possible with the given number of balls. Scrolling across the bottom of the screen is the free ball bucket which awards the player an extra ball should the previous shot go in.

Besides the orange pegs, the game's levels have blue pegs which have no effect other than increasing the score, purple pegs which are worth 50 times the amount of the blue pegs, and green pegs which activate a powerup based on the character the player has selected.

There is an option for those who are color blind which adds a triangle to the green pegs and a plus to the purple pegs to make them easier to distinguish.

Controls

        Move your explorer by clicking on a square directly adjacent to him. Diagonal moves are not allowed.

IMPORTANT to pass your turn, click directly on your explorer. This can often be useful to let the mummy move into a better position.

You can also control your explorer with the arrow keys, and press the space bar to pass a turn.

Gameplay

          Mummy Maze is a turnbased game. First you move, then the mummy moves, then it's back to you again.

Your objective in each maze is to make it to the exit without getting caught by the mummy.

The problem is that for every one square you move, the mummy moves two You need to take advantage of his limited intelligence to trick him into dead ends and culdesacs.

Tricking the Mummy

        The key to fooling the mummy is realizing how it thinks.

Normal mummies the white ones will always follow the same rules as they try to catch you

     a If the mummy can move horizontally side to side and get closer to your explorer, it will do so.

     b if the mummy can't move horizontally, but can move vertically up and down and get closer to your explorer, it will do that instead.
        Because of these rules, the mummy will often move into dead ends when it could have caught you by moving a little smarter. Luckily for you mummies aren't too smart

Scorpions

    You will also see scorpions in some mazes. These are just as deadly as mummies, but slower... they can only move 1 square each turn.

 If a mummy and a scorpion ever end up in the same square, the mummy will beat up the scorpion, knocking it out of the game.

Gates and Keys

     In some mazes you will see areas blocked off by a gate. These mazes will also have a key somewhere within.

    The gate can be opened or closed by moving onto the key square.

      Remember, the key can be triggered either by you, a mummy, or even a scorpion And it can be triggered again, closing the gate, if someone steps on the key again

Traps

    Some mazes will have traps, which are designated by the skull image on the floor. If your explorer steps on a trap, he'll meet an unpleasant end... go ahead, try it out

     However, scorpions and mummies can cross over traps freely, so be careful

Red Mummies and Scorpions

You may see mummies or scorpions that look different... they're bright red

These red mummies and scorpions behave differently than the normal ones. Their priorities for chasing you are reversed... that is, they will try to get you vertically, before they move horizontally.

In other respects they are identical to normal mummies and scorpions

Two Mummies

Some mazes will have 2 mummies in them. In the event that the two mummies ever collide, they'll get into a fight, with one being destroyed in the process

You are B. J. Objective

You must first escape from imprisonment in the castle to report the strange creatures and happenings in and around Wolfenstein to the OSA. Your mission takes a drastic turn as you learn the depth of Himmler's plans and what you must do to defeat the evil he has unleashed. This is what you have been trained for. Your surroundings will be dangerous and hostile. The OSA is currently tracking activities believed to be associated with Himmler in locations throughout Germany including; villages overrun by the occult, hidden crypts, forests, air bases, secret weapons facilities, and genetic labs, to name only the few we are aware of. There are more, and you must find them.

The basic soldier is the backbone of the German Army. Whether SS or standard Wehrmacht he is always a highly disciplined and motivated fighter. Combat hardened, and proficient with a variety of smallarms, the German Soldier should never be underestimated.

In Majesty, you don't waste your time mining and directing minions to go hither and yon. You build your castle, your kingdom's amenities and, as you can afford themn, hero guilds. Each hero guild can support a certain number of heroes usually 4, although you'll usually have to buy heroes.

But fret not, because each hero will pay you back many times over by visiting your marketplaces, blacksmiths, inns, and son on. In addition, each guild generates a bit of money on its own, and some provide extra services which can generate revenue.

Your tax collectors will walk from building to building collecting gold, ultimately returning it to your castle or nearby guard houses, while your heroes do whatever they do best. Rangers explore, rogues steal, and so on.

The more you build, the more support buildings peasant huts will pop up, themselves generating some revenue. Other side effects of urban life like sewer drains will appear, too.

The lands are always plagued with some menace or other, however, and its your job as king to make the world safe forwell, your taxpayers. Majesty, however, unlike most other RTSes, gives you no means to directly manipulate your subjects.

If you want a monster dead, then, you must place a bounty on it. If you're trying to destroy the evil crypt generating vampires, you must place a bounty on that. If you want to explore a dark area of the map, you can place an explore flag and try to draw heroes therefor a price.

Allinall, this formula works, though it's not yet perfected. The balance between building facilities like the marketplace and building the guilds/generating heroes that you need to protect your kingdom is very well done. The heroes autonomy is good Sometimes the destruction of a certain target will result in a greater evil being released, so you'll want to delay thatbut your Paladins will have other ideas. On the other hand, your heroes can be so aggressive on their own that they win the game for you while you're not even aware of it.

If you've built a solid infrastructure for your city, you know you've won. The difference between a beginner's game and an expert's game becomes whether you can survive the opening minutes, and occasionally how well you prepare for the trigger event the accomplishing of one goal that results in a rush of monsters.
