Overview
River Past Audio Capture is an easy-to-use and oem audio recording software. Rip audio from your LP, audio cassette, and VHS video tapes. Record your own karaoke singing, or TV and radio programs. Use it as a universal audio converter by recording from the speakers. Sometimes it is the only way to transfer DRM protected WMA or iTunes audio files to WAV or MP3.
Record to MP3 or WMA for your portable audio players, or share it on the internet. Record to WAV or AVI so you can use it in your favorite video editing programs.

Audio Capture Advantages Ease of Use River Past Audio Capture is very easy to use. Select the sound device, port, output format, and click “Record”. The expandable panels let you change all the relevant settings without clustering the interface. Audio Capture Features
Input Selection River Past Audio Capture enables you to select the input port with an easy and obvious interface, whether you are recording from microphone, line-In, or speakers.
It is the only audio recording software which enables you to record from a DV camcorder or VCR connected to 1394 port. This makes it extremely easy for you to move your newer collection of DV tapes to your PC.

Codec Control With WAV, MP3, audio-only AVI output, and WMA, you have the App control over sample rate, channel, resolution (8-bit or 16-bit), and bitrate.
When recording WMA using profiles, you have the choice of many pre-defined profiles, targeted at different usages.
Pause Control You can pause the recording in River Past Audio Capture, and restart later. This enables you to have multiple segments of recording in a single audio file.
Universal Converter By recording from the speakers, River Past Audio Capture can be used as a universal audio converter, regardless where the audio is from.
For example, you can start playback of a RealMedia or RealAudio file in the background with Real Player, and record from speakers. This turns River Past Audio Capture into a RA to MP3 (or RA to WMA) converter.
You can use the same method to convert MIDI to MP3/WMA.
Sometimes it is the only way to convert some audio formats. For example, Napster and MusicMatch use encrypted WMA audio, which only their software can decode. To convert the music you already purchased to MP3, you can either Write a CD from their software, and then rip and convert it, or you can use River Past Audio Capture to record through the speakers.
Audio Capture Requirements Hardware River Past Audio Capture is tested to run on any PC with a Pentium III/Celeron CPU of 500 MHz or above. A sound card is required.
It may perform on a PC with lesser spec. However, we will not provide technical support if your PC is below the minimum specification we provided.
Operation Systems River Past Audio Capture supports Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.
DirectX River Past Audio Capture requires DirectX 8.0 or above. We strongly recommend that you always use the latest the latest DX (currently 9.0b) because it provides better stability and performance.
WMF For WMA output, you must have Windows Media Format runtime 9 installed. We provide it in a separate download package.
OGG filters For OGG Vorbis output, you must have Tobias' OGG Vorbis DirectShow filters installed.
