Graphical display of memory resources The real time statistics on memory usage, consumption, availability and size of system cache and peak cache is presented both graphically and numerically.
Line Chart and Bar Chart Now, a novice to computer has a hand to the file cache management. With Line Chart and Bar Chart you get a clear picture of the system memory resources. This is sub-categorized into available and consumed memory including the size of system cache and peak cache. Manage the CacheBoost service Additionally, you have the facility to manage the CacheBoost service i.e. start or stop the service. It is advisable that you stop the service only during system maintenance. Guard memory resource allocation CacheBoost runs in your system tray providing better resource allocation. However, you have an additional advantage to optimize the resources manually by defragging and repairing memory leaks and freeing the space of system cache. Optimize System Memory With Optimize System Memory you can manually optimize the system memory by defragging the memory, repairing memory leaks and unloading the unused system modules. Empty System Cache Sometimes system cache starts growing in size i.e. while copying files or opening or closing a file. Wipe-off cache accumulated in your system using Empty System Cache, and optimize operations. Make your PC feel more responsive CacheBoost intelligently runs in the background to monitor and control the processes which take place in the memory through its unique Automatic Intelligent Settings. Manually optimize system memory To add to your requirement, manually optimize system memory by defragging and repairing memory leaks and freeing the space of system cache. Configure Once Apply Everywhere CacheBoost comes with an extraordinary feature to configure once and apply everywhere. Fine tune CacheBoost on a machine and export its settings to be applied on other machines. Automatic Intellisense Settings CacheBoost can be configured precisely to suit to your needs. CacheBoost runs in the background to help reclaim the wasted memory on your computer and guards the allocation of memory resources through its unique Automatic Intellisense Settings. Not only this, you can customize the application to your needs. Besides, CacheBoost offers optimization functions for workstation and servers respectively. Utilize existing hardware efficiently CacheBoost is a utility to free unutilized memory. It manages allocation of memory to execute programs. It stabilizes the system performance while you swap various files and programs ‘in-and-out’ of the memory. It repairs the memory leaks and prevents crashes and unnecessary system slow down to make your system feel more responsive. It defrags Windows registry thus improving the system access time, saving memory and preventing registry corruption. Make your computer fast and stable Pioneer in designing Data Safe Technology, offers the first-ever possibility to ensure that each and every data is written to your hard drive, preventing information loss, and securing your essential cache memory. It not only saves memory as it releases file cache but is also safe and reliable. What is Data Safe? Data Safe is a unique feature or technique used by CacheBoost through which it searches for each and every unsaved chunk of data in the memory and saves it to the hard disk. Why do you need Data Safe? Before any data is actually written to the hard disk, it is stored by Windows in its system cache. Windows instead of writing small amounts of data to the hard disk moves data in the system cache and waits for similar amount of data to be written. Meanwhile, if there is a system failure due to an application error or a power failure or the system is accidentally turned off by the user, all the data stored in the system buffer is lost. That is why CacheBoost uses Data Safe Technology. How Data Safe increases performance and safety of your system? Windows uses system cache which normally improves the speed of accessing files. System cache is part of physical memory. The purpose of cache is to store files temporarily to improve performance. When a file is read from hard disk it is stored in system cache. If there is another read request for the same file, Windows retrieves it from the faster system cache memory, instead of reading it from the slower hard disk. However, such files are using precious memory in cache and wasting CPU cycles, as Windows have to update its cache with every read request. Data Safe writes data to disk and defrags the cache. This not only increases performance but also provides safety at no extra cost. Optimize the file cache-management You can configure CacheBoost manually. If you want an effective control over it then you can set them in advanced settings. Maximum Cache Size With Maximum Cache Size the system cache will not grow beyond the size specified under this option. We recommend the slider to be placed in between 50% to 75% of system memory. Setting it too low may degrade the performance. Check for System Cache. Another important function is Check for System Cache. In this you can set the time interval to flush the buffered data to disk. Normally it should be set in between 15 to 25 seconds. Setting it too low may be good for safety but may degrade performance. Based on Available Memory You can configure CacheBoost to manage your Windows File Cache automatically. File Cache size will be changed on the basis of available Physical RAM in the system. In case many applications are open and the available physical RAM is less, CacheBoost will reduce the File Cache size, so that more RAM is free for applications and the System response is optimum. Glide through Windows CacheBoost lets you to fine tune your Windows system. It makes your system faster by improving core system performance, optimizing system cache and clearing swap files. Large System Cache Large System Cache makes more room for cache in memory. The main feature is to allow the computer to cache the Operating System Kernel to memory, making the operating system more responsive. Though the memory consumption is bit higher there is enormous increase in speed. We recommended that you check this option. Keep core kernel executive in memory When enabled, ‘Keep Core Kernel Executive In Memory’ forces Windows to keep essential files in RAM and these files are paged on hard-disk. This improves performance and reduces disk activity. More Critical Threads During critical work load, creating a system thread may take more time. More Critical Threads setting forces Windows to create additional threads in advance and boosts system speed. Force Windows not to update time-stamp Windows updates the latest time stamp of each and every file/directory it accesses on Network File System (NTFS) volume. If there are a large number of files/directories, this can affect the performance of the system. "Force Windows that it should not update time stamps on file names" disables this feature to improve performance. Disable creating short file names Disable creating short file names tuning utility forces the Network File System (NTFS) volumes to stop creating legacy 8.3 short file names for their respective long file names. Enabling this option increases the performance of heavily used NTFS partitions but affects the old 16 bit applications. It is highly recommended for servers. Server Tune When you use Server Tune (only available in Server Edition) CacheBoost prepares you machine to bear the heavy load of servers. Though memory usage will increase anywhere from 25% to 50% depending on physical memory but you will get Rock Solid Performance. Server Tune is a tradeoff between memory and performance. If you have more than 2 GB memory available then you should go for Server Tune and server edition. Comparision Matrix CacheBoost Server Edition besides all the benefits of the CacheBoost Professional Edition includes Server Tune Technology to bear the heavy load of Servers. With CacheBoost Server Edition you can also use the Server Tune Technology on your Desktop Workstation to give server like performance. It is slightly costlier than CacheBoost Professional Edition. It is best for Servers, Systems with heavy load, developers, die hard gamers.
CacheBoost Professional Edition is same as CacheBoost Server Edition but does not include Server Tune Technology. It is best optimized for day to day applications on your personal computer, It is best for home users, daily applications.
